At the inquest held on George Renner, who met his death on Sunday by falling off the New Brighton Tram, a verdict was returned of " accidental death." No blame was attaohed to anyone. Auckland, August 15. Information has been received of the* death of Dr. Shortland at Plymouth, England, aged 81. He was a brother of Willoughby Shortland, who was Acting-Gover-nor of New Zealand on the death of Governor Hobson.
