ROAD BOARD ELECTIONS.

COUNTY OF OMAKA,

Electoral Distbict op Opawa,

The nomination of three members for the Opawa district of the Omaka County took place at noon yesterday, at the Provincial Hall, Blenheim. John Earleyman, Esq., the Returning Officer for the district, presiding. Having opened the proceedings by reading the advertisement convening the meeting, and also the clauses of the Act relating to the occasion, he called on the electors present to name the candidates.

Mr Stratford nominated Mr George Houldsworth as a fit and proper person for a seat m the County Board, and Mr Charles Redwood seconded the nomination.

Mr Charles Eyles proposed Mr John Rose, who was seconded by Mr Stratford. Mr Houldsworth proposed Mr Charles Redwood, but this nomination was not seconded.

Mr Eyles proposed Dr Louis Kiel Home, who was seconded by Mr Stratford. After a considerable pause, the Returning Officer said if there were no more candidates to propose, and no one to second Mr Redwood, he would declare Messrs Houldsworth, Rose, and Home as elected.

" After another brief pause, there bein» no further movement on the part of the electors, the Returning Officer declared Messrs George Houldsworth, John Rose, and Lewis Keil Home duly elected.

A vote of thanks to the Returning Officer was proposed, and the meeting dispersed. Only ten persons were present.
