SPORTS AT THE BUSH.

The customary Sports were held at the Bush on Monday last, at Mr J. Shepherd’s Grove Hotel, when there was a numerous company present from the surrounding district, and from all accounts everything passed off well. The following was the programme ; 1. Trotting Match—3 miles. Entrance 10a. Prize, £ 4 ; second horse to save his stakes. Mr W. H. Eyes’Jun. Nine Eyes . . 1 Mr Walls’ black horse . . . • 2 There were four entries for this race, which was won easily by Nine Eyes. She took the lead from the Brst,and came in as she pleased. 2. Tilting in the Ring—Entrance 2a 6d. Prize, £3; 2nd horse, 10s. Mr W. Robinson ..... 1 Mr .1. Robinson ..... 1 There were 13 entries. The brothers Robinson tried four times, and the fifth trial resulted in favour of Mr James Robinson. 3. Steeple Chase —1 mile. Entrance, 10s. Prize, £4 ; second horse to save his stakes. Mr W. H. Eyes’ Rolla .... 1 Mr J. Robinson’s Union Jack ... 2 The above were the only entries. Rolla took the lead, and won easily: 4. Half-Mile Race—Entrance 5s Prize £3; second horse to save his stakes.
