A man named Corkill was fined .CI and costs at Olinkuno yesterday for selling hop beer of a greater strength than is allowed by law. Robert Ash and John Fleming were charged with taking whisky into a nolicense area. The magistrate dismissed the information as it had not been suggested that the liipior was intended for sale. At Ifaeijhi to-day a man named Ingrain and hjs two sons were charged with having kept liipior for sale in a no-liceiisfi area. The point, was raised for the defence that two (lavs before the liaetihi ISloek was proclaimed to be „ native no-license area it had ceased to be native, becoming bv order of the judge of the Native Lain! Court vested in the Crown. The magistrate upheld the contention and dismissed the information.
