MEETING OF CREDITORS. l'Ell UNITED I'UEBS ASSOCIATION. I'ALMERSTON N\. March 12. A meeting of creditors in the estate of Charles Edward Levien, land' agont, I'aliuerston North, was held this afternoon. The statement showed: Debts, £Oll Ills 8d (till unsecured), and the only asset an interest, valued at 11286, in property. The examination elicited that the bankrupt had a bank hook and a statement of accounts from the solicitors with whom he has done business, hilt no record of receipts and expenditure. The bankrupt had earned £-10 a month for several months, £SO from May to August last year and £2 a week since. He estimated that it cost him £4 a week to live. He denied charges oi extravagant living. A motion for public examination was carried by seven votes to three, but was lost, on value. The assignee intimated that he would see some of the other rrcditors before deciding on a course of action.
