SALVATION ARMY

HARVEST FESTIVAL On Monday evening the Salvation Army held its annual concert and sale of produce in St. Andrew’s Hall in connection with the harvest festival. There was a fine display of produce, which was sold at the close of the evening. Major Bootle, of Hamilton, conducted the sale, and his witty sallies produced much hilarity and excellent results. A varied programme was given by the Torchbearers Group from Hamilton, and their items were greatly appreciated by the fair number present, rterns of particular interest were two spirited dialogues, “ Green Apples ” and “ Choosing a Housekeeper,” and ensembles entitled “ The Scarecrow Drill” and,“The Lantern Drill.” The singing of the male quartette provided a splendid finish to the programme. The evening was closed with prayer and the pronouncement of the Benediction.
