Bonus to Suppliers Next Month

The final returns to suppliers of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company for the 1932-33 season have been announced.

Butter suppliers will receive an average return of 9.6347 d per pound where a cartage service is used. Cheese suppliers will receive from 10.649 d to 11.617 d per pound, according to factory, but the average over the company’s 18 cheese factories will exceed lid per pound. The bonus to be paid to butter suppliers at the end of August, states the general manager, would make a total payment to direct delivery suppilers for finest quality butterfat, including cartage subsidy, of 9.7490 d per pound, and to suppliers who 1 used a ’ cartage service 9.6347 d per pound. The final payment would be disbursed as follows: A cash payment to all suppliers of .785 d per pound on November and December supply, .285 d per pound on January supply, 1.285 d per pound on February supply, 1.785 d per po.und on March and April supply, and, subject to realisation of stocks, .290 d per pound on May supply. In addition to the above, a shareholders’ bonus of .375 d per pound butterfat will be paid over the full season to suppliers holding the qualifying number of shares.

In accordance with the usual policy, the whole of the produce exported to the United Kingdom by the company was shipped on consignment, and when this fact is taken into consideration the payments to be made to butter and cheese suppliers must be regarded as very satisfactory.

TE AROHA COMPANY.

Payout for Butter.

Suppliers of the Te Aroha-Thames Valley Co-operative Dairy Company are to receive a total payment for the season of up to 9.540 d, according to the third annual report, which states: —

“ After paying an average price for finest butterfat of 8.484 d there remains the sum of £8092 13s lid for distribution, out of which a bonus over the months of December to April (inclusive) of Id per pound will be paid on August 20. The present amount for distribution when added to the cash advances already made, share capitalisation of .25d, and dividend of .02d, will amount to 9.042 d finest grade; farm gate cartage costs of .498 d per pound will bring the total payment for the season up to 9.540 d finest grade.” The number of suppliers was 568, as against 473 in the previous season, the quantity of butterfat received being 3,635,872.61 b against 2,787,372.41 b in 1932.
