THE LONDON MARKET.
The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated July 21, advising that the following were the approximate average prices realised for the week:—
New Zealand Lambs.—Canterbury: 361 b and under 6§d, 371 b to 421 b 6id, 431 b to 501 b 63d; second quality, average 301 b sld. Other South Island brands : 361 b and under 61d, 371 b to 421 b 60d, 431 b to 501 b 63d. Selected North Island brands (including Downs): 361 b and under 6|d, ,371 b to 421 b 63d, 431 b to 501 b 63d; second quality, average 321 b, §ld. Other North Island brands: First quality, 361 b and under 6gd, 371 b to 421 b 6i*d; second quality, average 321 b, sld. New Zealand Sheep.—Canterbury and North Island selected crossbred wethers and maiden ewes : 481 b to 561 b 43d, 571 b to 641 b 33d, 651 b to 721 b 33d. North Island crossbred wethers and maiden ewes: 481 b to 561 b 43d, 571 b to 64¥b 31d, 651 b to 721 b 33d, Ewes: 481 b and under 33d, 481 b to 641 b 3d, 651 b to 721 b 23d. * New Zealand Beef.—Ox fores 23d, ox hinds 2id. i
Lamb Market.—Prices practically unchanged. Consumption satisfactory. Mutton Market.—Wethers: Meeting with fair demand with steady prices. Ewes: Market quiet and unchanged. Beef Market.—Meeting with very little demand.
N.Z. Porker Pigs.—Trade slow owng to hot weather.
