ON THE SCREEN.

MATAMATA. “ The Joker,” the picture to be screened at Matamata Town Hall on | Friday next, is based on the popular play by Noel Scott, which had successful runs throughout Australia recently. Good as the stage play was, the film is a really brilliant, elaborately produced and well-acted melodrama, which cannot but appeal to any class of audience. “ Give and Take,” the Universal comedy special coming to Matamata next Saturday, is considered one of the best fun films exhibited in years. Not only is the story replete with laughs but the cast is outstanding, headed by Jean Hersholt and George Sidney in the starring roles and supported by George Lewis and Sharon Lynn.
