MILITARY NOTES.

There was a good attendance of all members of tiie platoon on August 26. Tiie first half hour was taken up with physical training of both units and after that the Platoon carried on with elementary Lewis gun drill while the cadet detachment engaged in squad drill. ft is interesting to note tiiat the first parade of' the Platoon took place in -September, 1934, when tiierc were 31 members present. There are now only 12 of these original members on the strength. During the -course of the 'three years training 21 new members were enrolled, which means that since the Inception of military training in Queenstown 52 men have had the benefit of the training. Of these 25 are still on the strength. 25 have left tiie district and two have been discharged. No 13 PLATOON, AEROWTOWN. There was a good attendance of all members of the platoon on 26th August. Staff -Sergt-major Little gave interesting instructions in Lewis gun drill for tiie remainder o! the evening. Sergt B. L. Scheib is to be congratulated on winning Lieut. J. K. Robbie’s trophy for the highest score In the Regiment for judging distance. Corporal Fowler, who lias proved himself a very efficient and conscientious X.C.0., has been lareweillcul. He has been transferred to Ranfurly and the platoon wish him every success in his new sphere. Shell cases were presented to Corp. A Murphy ami to Etc. Dakcrs.
