Queenstown Carnival.
On Tuesday evening a short meeting of - the, Queenstown Citizens’ Carnival Committee was held in -the Town Clerk’s office, Mr . \V. H. Overton, president of the Carnival Association, toeing jn the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
As Oapt. Herbert had signified Iris wish not to retain the office of chairman of the Committee, Mr Overton was appointed in his stead. Mr C. M. Inglis, .secretary, stated that he would toe away -during the Xmas and New Year* holidays, consequently it would toe necessary to find someone else to carry out the duties. He would toe quite willing to assist the new appointee up to the time of his going away. It was decided to hold the matter over* pending enquiries regarding a suitable person to -act in. Mr Inglis’ place. Some discussion -took place, on the question of an orchestra for the Carnival, and it was left to- the chainman and secretary to go into the matter and report to next meeting—lt was decided to- run the carnival on much the same lines asi those of two years ago.
