AERO CARRIAGE.
NEWSPAPERS BY AEROPLANE. "LYTTELTON TIMES" ENTER- • PRISE. When Captain Euan Dickson flies to Ashburton to-day in one of the Canterbury Aviation Company's Avro machines he will carry a small parcel of copies of the " Lyttelton Times." In view of the fact that the aeroplane will have two passengers, Mr C. H. Hewlett and Miss Hewlett, Captain Dickson could not undertake to carry a large bundle, b.ut he readily consented to transport a parcel of souvenir copies of the newspaper. Each copy will be specially stamped and will have an illustrated inset. The bulk of the parcel will be for sale in Ashburton, but the " Lyttelton Times" Company haß arranged that a proportion will be returned to Christchurch, so that those people who desire to possess a souvenir of a very interesting event will be able to do so. It must be born© in mind, however, that only a very limited number of copies will be available. The price per copy has been fixed at sixpence. The carriage of newspaper parcels by aeroplane is a commercial success in the Mother Country, but "nothing has been attempted in that direction in this part of the world, and of course it will be some little time before the aerial transport of goods is an established undertaking in New Zealand. However, under normal conditions, Captain Dickson will be able to deliver his parcel of newspapers to the Ashburton agent of the "Lyttelton Times" Company, Limited, to-day well in advance of the, time of arrival of the regular deAvery by rail.
