INFLUENZA.
THE BULLETINS. The official influenza bulletin for the Canterbury and Westland districts, covering the period from noon on Thursday until noon yesterday showed a total of sixty-four cases'. With the exception of one pneumonic case, notified from Westport, all of these are mild. The bulletin covering the period from noon Monday, February 9, till noon on Thursday showed a total of eighty-four cases. The bulletin for the period from Thursday till yesterday is as follows,:—

OTHER DISEASES. Following are the other infectious diseases notified :—Buller: Diphtheria one; Inangahua: pneumonia one; South Canterbury: scarlet fever Ehree, diphtheria three; Ashburton: Scarlet fever one; North Canterbury: Scarlet fever two, diphtheria three, enteric two, tuberculosis seven, pneumonia four, measles three, lethargic encephalitis one. Total: Thirty-one. At a meeting of the Mairehau Epidemic Vigilance Committee the following patrols were appointed:—Quinn's Road. Mr and Mrs J. R. Walter; Kelley's and Maher's Roads, Mr and Mrs Borgfeldt; Philpott's and Innis Roads, Mr G. Linton; Hill's Road, Mrs Lange; Shirley Road, from Mill's Road to Marshland Road, Miss Haughey; Marshland Road, Mr S. H. Wilson; Briggs's Road, Mr W. Gottermeyer; Lake Terrace Road, Mr H. W. Berryman; chairman of committees, Mr L. H. Wilson; honorary secretary, Mr H. W. Berryman, Briggs's Road, Mairehau.
The Citizens' Epidemic Committee met yesterday afternoon, under the presidency of the Mayor (Dr Thacker). Mr W. S. Wharton reported that there was at present nothing to engage the committee's attention. # It was decided to keep the organisation in existence ready to take immediate action if necessary. In the last three days thirty notifications of oases of influenza have been received by the Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, stated Mr W. S. Wharton, secretary to the board to a " Lyttelton Times " reporter ye<*terday. He added that all these cases were mild, and some hardly showed definite symptoms of influenza. Mr E. N. Johnson, health inspector at Ashburton, states that the Ashburton public are realising their responsibility in regard to notifications, and many have been particularly prompt in sending advice to the board. Six oases of influenza were notified to the Ashburton Hospital Board yesterday, as follows:— Borough 3, Hampstead 2, and AUenton 1. Many of the cases are of <& semi-mild nature.
