FATHER O’DONNELL’S ARREST. By Telegraph—Pr«» Aaaociatian —Copyright Australian, and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, October 23. A writ of Habeas Corpus has been secured by Mr Lynch and. Mr (PHanlon to prevent Father O Donnell s deportation. Father O’Donnell has cabled to Archbishop Mannix and Mr Hughes asking for their intervention. In bis message Mr Hughes declares that Father O’Donnell was maliciously arrested by the British Government and threatened with deportation to Australia without a chance of vindication. Mr Hughes adds: “ Ask General Birdwood to protect Father O’Donnell’s Tights against this disgraceful injustice.”-
