LONDON, October 23.

In the House of Commons, at question time, Mr Cecil Harmsworth (Under-Secretary to the Foreign Office) stated that steps to recover the indemnity from Germany could not be taken until the Peace Treaty had been ratified, but much of the preliminary work had been done by the committee representing the principal Governments concerned. The particular deliveries under Annexes 4 and 5 of the Treaty had commenced.

Mr Bridgman stated that the Government had been informed that Germany had no great qnantity of, goods to export at present.
