AMIR’S ORDERS TO CEASE WAR, A REMARKABLE DOCUMENT. By Telograph—Press Association—Copyright Reuter’s Telegrams. (Received June 4, 9.15 p.m.) SIMLA, June 2, A certified copy of tho Amir’s orders to the commander of the Afghan Eastern Army, and presumably to other commanders, states that “ according to information received . ,from tho Government of India ” fighting had occurred owing to some misunderstanding. The Indian Government, therefore, was ordering the oommander to suspend hostilities until the door of communication opened. “As wo.had no intention of fighting with this old -friend of ours and were obliged to take defensive measures, now that he also desires peace we order and command you to keep back vour regular troops and tribes for whom we are responsible, and await further orders.” The letter adds: * “ Yc*a should, however, koep in view defensive and offensive operations while awaiting the result of tlie discussion between the Indian and Afghan Governments.” The order is dated May 27. ENEMY FORCES BOMBED. (Received June 5, 1.10 a.m.) SIMLA, June 3. The enemy fo-rces near Thai were again bombed and ma-ohine-gunned by airmen. No Afgharl troops now remain east of Kurram River.
