RED CROSS WORK.

CfJLVERDEN. The new Culverden .Red Cross Branch promises to be a very energetic one. The articles sent in for the month are for the bandage department, and consist of 516 rollers. 600 swabs and 9 face cloths. There eve only twenty members, but all are steady, keen workers. An. addition to the funds for the purohaso of. matorial, amounting to .-63, tn. 9 proceeds of » sale of a ehcep presented by Mr Wude and sold at Addington, was much appreciated, ', AMBERLEY AND BEOOMFIELD. The Kowai County Council having informed the members of tho Amberley and Broomfield Bed Cross that the money raised at tho carnival at Easter had been all spent, and that for the future each branch would have to fall back on its own resources, it was decided, to take steps to provide sufficient assistance to cony on. the work. About £3O a month was required, end three residents of tho district agreed to provide half tho amount. At a meeting held at Amberley on Tuesday evening, it was decided to hold a garden p«rtv end children's carnival in the Amberley -Domain on December 16,. and committees were formed to carry out the arrangements. The Rev .H. Spencer and Mr A. Lukoy were appointed secretaries, and the Rev W. Knowlos treasurer. For nearly two years the ladies' sewing ftnd the combined bandage class (with an average ottendanco of twenty) have been carrying' on tho work of providing for the needs of the men at the front,, and members generally, consider it a great pity if the work should stop. _ GREENDALE. The following is * list of garments made by tho Greendfllo Red Cross Branch during tho months of September and October: Four draw sheets, 9 dish towels, 13 handkerchiefs, 2 nightshirts, 11 pyjamas, 16 underpants; 15 shirts, J 3 undervests. 15 body belts, , i knitted face cloth, 1 soldier's oap, 3 pairs mittens and 2 pairs rocks; also 5 tins of jam, 6 wringers, 4 toilet cloths, and a quantity of old linon. Much interest is shown emong the school children. The following articles inad« by them have been handed in: —Twelve pillow-slips, 11 treasure bags and 2 dozen handkerchiefs. ASHBURTON.
