FLOWER SHOWS.

HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, LYTTEMOGSa

The tenth annuel flower show and flat# fa connection with the Holy Trinity Church, Lyttelton, was held in the Oddfellows' Hall yesterday afternoon and evening. Generally speaking, the show wos a decided improve, ment .on those of past years, many of th* exhibits being highly creditable. This we#, particularly .noticeable in the Motion for daffodils, in which Mis Penrose carried oil the most honours.' In the decorative section keen competition was displayed and th# quality of the blooms was very favourably commented on. As was the ease in pieviou#

years, the children’s section drew a good number of - competitors. The show was opened by the Mayor (M» W. Radoliffe, who complimented the oom* mittee on the suooess of its efforts. Mr R. Nairn judged the flowers, Mr F, G. Norton the domostio seotion, Miss Weastell the sewing and Dr Upham the drawing. Mrs S. Tredennick wae secretary and Mr W. H. Brown treasurer.

The stalls wore in charge of the following :—Flower stall. Mrs 0. E. Shepheard and Miss Weastell. Cake stall, Mesdames C. Cook and W. H. Brown. Sweets stall, Mesdames J. T. Brice and Hill. Plain work stall, Mesdames Hewland and IV. Cook. Fancy work stall, Misses Fraser (2) and Shepheard. Produce stall, C.E.M.S. and ladies. Refreshment room, Mesdames Dale, Bamford and Bennett.
