Air W. C. Cleary, J.P., presided at the Lyttelton Alagistrate’s Court yesterday. Sidney Forscutt was charged with having on September 22 placed a quantity of glass in the roadway in Norwich Quay. Sergeant Jackson said that tho case was the first, of its kind, and had been brought as a warning not to place rubbish in the roadway. Defendent was couvicted and ordered to pay costs. ASHBURTON. Air W. W. White, J.P., and Air R. Clark, J.P., presided at the Ashburton Alagistrate's Court yesferday. James Cook was charged with using obscene language on the Beach Road, Ashburton, and was fined 60s, in default fourteen days’ imprisonment.
