SOLDIERS’ GROUP.

NURSES’ SECTION. A meeting of the committee and supporters of tlie women’s and nurses’ section of the soldiers’ group was held at the Hospital yesterday, Dr A. Moreland presiding. Enthusiastic preparations were made for the cafe chantant to be held at tho Art Gallery on Thursday, and an excellent concert programme was arranged. It was reported that quantities of cakes and sweets had been promised. It was stated that local nurses in uniform and' returned soldiers will be among the helpers.

PATRIOTIC BAZAAR. A patriotic bazaar and jumble sale will be held in King Edward Barracks on ' Thursday, Friday and Saturday next. The bazaar is Vicing jointly organised and controlled by the soldiers' and' industries sections, and both parties for some time have been energetically canvassing for goods of every description. The. committee, however, tears* that there will he. a serious shortage, of cakes, preserves and sweets, and the attention of the ladies of the city and district is drawn to the matter. The caretaker of the barracks, Mr Rett, has undertaken to receive and take charge of any goods intended for the bazaar, consequently all gifts may now be left at the barracks m Cashel Street.
