PUBLIC SERVICES GROUP.

RAILWAY WORKSHOPS SECTION. The railway work/shops section of the Public Service group has procured a shop in Colombo Street for the purpose of exhibiting the art union prizes. The shop was opened on Friday evening, when a portion of the prizes were on view, and attracted considerable attention. The Workshops Band, under Bandmaster Tankard, played several selections during the evening, which were much enjoyed'. The section has received from Mr Nidd. of the Star Hotel, a donation of £2 13s, being the result of the sale of a lamb that strayed on to his premises.

CONCERT AT THEATRE ROYAL. The box plan for the concert to be held in the Theatre Royal on Saturday evening is fast filling up, and intending patrous are advised to book their seats at once Great interest is being disr played in the "Carillon," which will be "performed by an orchestra specially organised for the occasion under MiAlfred Buiiz, who has just returned from England, where the "Carillon" is now being performed by all the orchestras of any note. Tickets of admission are on sale at the PublicLibrary, Post Office, Telegraph Office and the Bristol. The concert is in aid of the Public Services group, audi is under the patronage of the Public Services Queen, Mrs J. C. l'aimer.
