I Part XXI., rule 8, dealing with appeals, was recast, and as adopted by the Conference gives any aggrieved person a wider scope of appeal. On tne motion of Mr H. Friedlander, a committee was set up s to inquire into the whole question of the shortage of competent jockeys, and to report ,to the president within 6ix months. ■'■'•' On the motion of Sir George 3f'Lean, seconded by the Hon 0. Samuel, Sir George Clifford was re-elected president amid applause. ' ! In responding, the president said he would have been very ;*lad to be relieved of office, but he felt that this year wa« to be a year of and that it would bo inadvisable to take aboard a new pilot.
