HOCKEY.

CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. The Management Committee of tlie, Canterbury Hockey Association met last evening in the Y.M.C.A. rooms; present—Messrs W. E. Rogers (in tho chair), C. Bellamy, W. H. Down, W. Leighton, S. Holland. P. M. Velvin, A. S. Drayton, I>. Jones and P. Agar (secretary). It was decided that a letter should be sent to tho Referees’ Association, drawing its attention to the slackness of the referees in sending in tho returns of the matches. A communication was received from the Wellington Association in regard to restricting entries for tlie Challenge Shield.

A motion was passed supporting the movement of tho Wellington Association.

Tho Auckland Association wrote, suggesting August 8 for tho Challenge Shield match. Tt was decided to leave ■the matter in the hands of tlie selectors, to find out if tho date would be suitable.

Messrs Rogers, Bellamy, Jones, Down and Drayton were appointed a committee, to ■administer Rule 4 in regard to qualifications of players. A rote of thanks was accorded to Mr D. Jones for his services in connection with tho five-a-side tournaments, and it was arranged that letters should he written to Dir Burgess and tlie Referees’ Association, thanking them for their excellent work. In response to a request from the South Canterbury Association it was agreed to send i: representative team to play at Timaru some time at the end of June. LADIES’ GADIES. TO-MORROW’S SIX-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT. The competition matches arranged for next Saturday have been postponed. The Senior round of the six-a-side tournament and the .
