Messrs Lynsky (Wellington) and Gallagher (Auckland), for the North Island, and Messrs S. F. Wilson (Canterbury) and Harris (Dunedin) were appointed selectors of the New Zealand team for Australia, conditionally on their being able to attend the interisland match at Wellington. CANTERBURY RUGBY UNION. TO-MORROW’S MATCHES. The Canterbury Rugby Union’s competitions will be continued in all grades to-morrow. In the senior matches at Lancaster Park chief interest is being evinced in tho mooting between Lin wood and Old Boys, when it is expected that tho duel between file Linwocd forwards and tho Old Boys backs will produce some interesting and exciting play. Tho match on the south ground between Christchurch and University gives promise of being even more interesting than tho game that has been given pride of place on tho oval. Both teams aro capable of playing fine spectacular football when they aro in form, and it is anticipated that as they play similar football a good exposition of the game should result. . Diarists gave Christchurch such a close game last Saturday that their meeting with Merivale on the west ground is sure to attract a lot of attention. It has been decided strictly to enforce the rule with regard to starting punctually at 2.45 p.m., so that those teams that inado a casual late appearance last week may find themselves badly left if they repeat their performance tomorrow.
