THE MARCONI AFTERMATH.
LLOYD GEORGE AND THE CECILS.
LORD SELBORNE'S REPLY.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, September 28. The Earl of Selborne, in a letter to Mr Lloyd George, states that when appointed Under-Secretary for the Colonies in 1895 he offered to resign the directorship of the P. and O. Company. Lord Salisbury declared that it was not necessary, as ho was not a Cabinet Minister, and the shipping contracts wero not negotiated by the Colonial Office. When appointed First Lord of the Admiralty in 1900 he resigned from the P. and O. Company, and sold his shares. He adds that his case wholly differs from Mr Lloyd George's.
