LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION.

TO THE EDITOR. - Sir,—lt does seem a pity that Mr Massey should not bo able‘to address a Christchurch audience, and, if the reason is that ho fears that residents of our city would show strong hostility towards him, could not those who are bitterly opposed to his policy for once* display a little generosity and render deference to the man -who leads the Reform Party? It has given mo pleasure for a number of vears to vote against candidates who 'stood under Ins banner; nevertheless, it docs seem a reflection on our sanity that we appear Unwilling to hear what he has got to say.—T am. etc..
