CHURCH APPOINTMENTS.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —I would like to thank you for your excellent leader in Monday’s issue regarding the Anglican Church. We of this household are in entire accord with your views, the more so since reading “Leo's ’’rubbish, of which he ought to be heartily ashamed. We tender you our sympathy in having to bear siich undeserved treatment. Small wonder these deplorable things aro taking place within our dear old Church of England when such men are in our midst. .Indeed, he may be at the bottom of it all. However, this is not the first Leo our church has had to deal with and vanquish during her glorious history, and the same God reigns, but His word says, “ Woe to him through whom the offence cometh.” Your-.correspondent seems to think that this unrest within our church is evidence of progress. To my mind it is evidence of retrogression caused by the spirit of intolerance and arrogance—the same spirit which caused our forefathers t-o protest, and led to schisms and distress, as it does now. Thank'you also for giving us the extract from the London “Times.” All honour to our grand lavmen !—I am etc.
CHURCH WOMAN.
