} KAIAPOI. ! A meeting of the Kaiapoi Borough Council was held on Tuesday evening; present—Air J. H. Blackwell (Alnyor), Councillors Parnham, Pearce, Keetley, Hayman, Sullivan, Wylie, Eagle and Alidgley. The llangioro. and Alandeville Road Board wrote giving an estimate of cost of the proposed new bridge over the Gam as £550. This would allow of the bridge to be 18/ft clear, built of concrete with an arch span; and ,would. not interfere with the waterway. The Bridge Inquiry Committee recommended that £SO or. £6O should be spent cu the traffic bridge. The Finance Committee reported that the receipts had been 6cl. The credit balance stood at £135 Og Bd. Accounts for £25 17s 3d were recom- , mended for, payment. Mr Geiring waited on the Council, and asked that Cass Street should bo metalled from ; Cookson Street to Smith Street. This matter was referred to the Works j Committee.
