The Wellington and Star Rowing Clubs are up in arms against the proposal of the Harbour Board to terminate their leases of a certain part of the harbour frontage near the wharf, and compel them to shift their sheds and gear to the vicinity of Oriental Bay. The object of the Board is to have the whole water frontage facing the city for the free use of shipping. To-day a deputation from these clubs and the Naval Volunteers waited upon the Board and entered a protest against the contemplated action.
