In the Federal House, Mr Thomas moved that the Commonwealth Govern*ment should approach the Imperial and Canadian Governments with a view to steps being taken to acquire a Canadian land line and one of the Atlantic cables in order to complete a State-owned line from Australia to England. The debate was adjourned.
