At the inquest touching the death of the sailor who was found l drowned, the evidence did nob disclose the identity of the deceased; but it is possible that the body is that of Patrick Huggins, leading stoker on H.M.S. Clio, who is missing. An ©pen verdict was returned. An old resident named James Marson, »ged sixty-five, died suddenly from heart disease to-night whilst attending service at the tent mission at- Mount Roskill Road. Deceased was in the “ Herald ” lithographip -department for nearly forty years, but retired six months ago owing to failing health. HASTINGS, October 21. Mary Elizabeth Gallagher, aged sixty, a married woman, committed suicide yesterday evening by drinking carbolic acid. She had been suffering from melancholia for the last three weeks. A verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned. ‘ NAPIER, October 21. Herbert Bollwell, twenty-four years of a single man and- a recent arrival from England, was found dea-d in bed last pight from poisoning, self administered. Deceased had complained of nervousness and melancholia, and had consulted; a doctor la-st evening.
