PICNICS.
Yesterday the City Council employees Council employees held their first annual picnic. The. excursion party, numbering fully 600, was conveyed by special train to Rangiora, where tho day was spent in the Domain. A long programme of sports was gone through for prizes given by Christchurch business people and other citizens, and special provision was mad© for the entertainment of the children. The Woolston Band accompanied tho excursionists and played during the day. Thu results of the sports were as follow; —Bicycle Race, three miles—Stewart 1, J. Pop© 2, Batten 3.
