SAVAGE CLUB.
The annual general meeting of the Christchurch Savage Club was held in the hall of the Chamber of Commerce on''Monday evening. , ■ The committee’s report stated that it had been unable to accept the favourable offer received from Savage Roper, at the beginning of Hast season, for the permanent housing of the club, ns it was found that in order to afford it the club would have had to be entirely reorganised on a new basis with a higher subscription. During the past season,-in addition to the annual general meeting, there had been eighteen Korerds, including the Koreros on the -Ladies’ Nights and at the annual club supper.Eighteen committee meetings had (been held. The- club had now- had an existence of ten years, having been founded in May, 1893. The committee wished to record its appreciation of the services rendered to the club by Savage A. J. W. Bunz, who is about 'to- proceed to Germany to prosecute his musical studies there. The committee congratulated the club upon the satisfactory condition of its fmancies. ' The -following officers were- returned unopposed President, Hon Savage his .Excellency the Earl of Eauluiiy ; vice-presi-dents, Savages Sir' G. Clifford and Canon Pollock ; honorary secretary,' Savage G. P. Williams; honorary treasurer. Savage P. W. Hobbs; musical director. Savage A. J. Merton; committee, Savages \V. A. Bowring, E. Cuthbert, R. Dobbin, J. Dykes, J. R. Evans, Mcnzies Gibb, Dr Jennings and E. R. Webb.
