■ —' -O ! The monthly meeting of the Ger&ldine District High School Committee was held on Thursday night; present—Messrs TV Sherratt (chairman), T. Dyer, T. Bowkett, B. Creemer and A. Fyfe, and the Headmaster. It was unanimously agreed to support. Sir Skinner as a candidate for a seat on the* South' Canterbury Board' of. Education. Tho headmaster reported-' for the month that tlho number on tihe roll was'" 222, and ih& average attendance 192. Sereral repairs were required at the school. Mr Bowkett was appointed to get repairs done. It' was resolved itfhat the holidays should start on June 20, the' school to i'eopeii on July 14. It was also decided that* 'tine--'resolution of last meeting regarding taking proceedings against the parents of irrogular attenders should be carried into effect. A vote of thanks was accorded to Messrs Mac Kay and''Naylor for, a banner presented by them to the school fo* tlio Coronation celebrations. Messrs- Bowkett and, Creemer were appointed visitors for the month. Accounts amounting, to 16s were, passed for payment.
