Heavy rains have fallen during the last few days, enabling all sluicing operations to bo resumed. Hokitika, River dredge recommenced •work last Friday/the now tumbler shaft.being in position, but the river was in high'flood and prevented effective work. The Woodstock Company's dredge has altered her course, and is taking, in part of a high ridge, the intention being to work up to the top part of the claim. Stafiord-Waimea dredge has completed repairs and is ready for operations-. Commissioner's Flat Company's dredge is expected to be ready early next month. OTAGO NOTES. [From Otta Correspondent;] DUNtEiDIN, June 23. The Coal lOreek Flat dradge was stopped nearly all last week overhauling, and consequently fthera was no wash-up. It started agiini at ai'ooa! on Saturday. A couplo of weeks ago the Junction Electric No. 1 dredge sunk, anct operations to refloat her have been proceeding. A big slip from the hill last night altered the course of the river. The dredge is now being silted up, and the case is hopeless.
