ROAD BOARDS.
1 : MOUNT'PEEL. The Mount Peol Road Board met on June* 20, Messrs Denuistoun, Dixon, Tripp and Thew being present. A large amount of general correspondence read. Mr Dunnett wrote, offering to lease the Board's) reserve at South Qpuha, for a further term,, on same conditions as'previously, and lha offer was accepted. ' Mr Gould wrote, ask- • ing for some work to ba done, to give access to Ins section. It was decided that this should be attended to when the surfacemen had time. Mr J.' D.- Richards wrote, offering five shillings per 100 feet for old bridge timber in Opulia. The Board required the timber for bridge purposes, and did not wish to sell. A petiticn was received from various ratepayers ** in the Kaincliff district for a light traffic bridge over the EainclifE Creek. The Cle/k was instructed to ascertain if thirds could be used for this purpose, if interested parties agreed.' Mr Tripp tabled a notice of motion, that a rate of one half-penny should be struck for the current yaar. It was resolved that a petition should be prepared regarding '' dividing the district into wards. The pay-sheet amounted to £648 6s' 4d. , :■ i
