PRESENTATIONS.

[From Our Correspondent.] DUNKLIN, Feb. 18. Mr Grombie, formerly etationmaster at Dunedin, who is about to take up the duties of traffic manager at Greymouth, was- presented on Saturday night by the officers of the staff of the local railway service, with a handsome travelling bag and a valuable afternoon tea service. The mercantile community will px-esent him with a purse of sovereigns on Wednesday. Already £l3O is in hand for this purpose.

The employees of Toneycljffe and Carey met on Saturday to bid farewell to Miss Taylor, who is about to leave for England. Mr G. E. Good, on behalf of those assembled, presented Miss Taylor with a gold bangle, and wished her a pleasant journey and prosperous career. Miss Tavlor thanked the donors for their gilt. There was a pleasant gathering at the West. Oxford Rail on Saturday evening, when a presentation of a purse of sovereigns was made by the Gust Mounted Rifles to Trooper Hawker, who. had lately met with an accident. Surgeon-Captain Yolckman, on behalf of the corps, made the presentation. . Trooper Hawker suitably responded. The following toasts were honoured during .the evening The King,” “The Press,” “Canterbury Yeomanry Ca-' valry,” “The Gust Mounted Rifles.” Occasion was taken to present Trooper Horn wdth Lieutenant Johnson’s prize for the best shot at 400yds, During the evening gongs were sung by the members of the corps and, others.
