■■ ' .'• AMURI. ■ A meeting of the Amuri County Council was held at.C.ulverden on Feb. 9 ; present —Messrs Duncan Rutherford (chairman), J. H. Davidson, A. Macfarlane, W. Thomson, D. D. Macfarlane, R. A. Forrester and J. M'Arthur. The Survey Department wrote stating that the Government had granted the Council £2OO for. the C4lynn Wyer Road and £l5O for Lower Waiau bridge repairs. Messrs Dodds and Davidson wrote asking to have the road up the Hammer River to the Hossack put in repair as they intended building. It was decided to reply that the labour gang could not be spared just now to do the work, but the Council would grant the sum of £4 towards the: cost. , Mr W. Acton Adams yrote/tbat he had resigned' Kis seat as member oh the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board., It- was unanimously resolved — ".That a hearty vote of thanks should be accorded to Mr Acton Adams for his services ; as the Council's representative on the Board." The Overseer reported that ,'owing to a flood an the Waiau River the props supporting the temporary structure at the southern approach to Lower Waiau bridge had been washed away. It.was decided to put in protective works and to call tenders for the construction of two additional 40ft spans to the bridge. Mr W. Thomson applied for permission to alter the course of certain! roads on the Balmoral Estate and it was decided to advertise notice of application as required by the Public Works Act. Accounts amounting to £223 75,9 d were passed for * payment r and the" Council adjourned.
