LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—ln this morning’s “Times” I see by your report of the Manchester dredge's work that she made three trips of 900 tons cf spoil. I am, like many others, glad to know of such good work being done bv her. But I am at a loss to know where she carriedthis spoil, as she only had an 800-ton capacity originally. Is she stretching at all meetings of the Harbour Board to gulLt'ho Canterbury Plains’ public. I have full confidence in your reporter that what appears has been given to him from a reliable person oh the Board’s staff ; yet even to deceive the members of the Board and the public, the report should not go unchallenged. As the question will certainly arise again where are the thousands of tons deposited that cannot be accounted for in Camp Bay? I say distinctly, the tonnage represented as having -been deposited in Camp Bay never went there. —I'am, etc., RESIDENT.
