THE TRAIN WRECKER.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Were the Premier, with the enormous influence he possesses in the House of Representatives and the country, to at once bring in a Bill making any attempt at tampering with railway lines a capital offence, I feel confident that he would do more towards restoring the confidence of -the travelling public than by any other course. I venture to make the suggestion knowing that a great deal of discomfort has been caused bv the two diabolical attempts to wreck two heavy passenger trains, and fearing that, unless something is promptly done to quell that distrust in the system, Canterbury will suffer considerably over her Jubilee celebration?.—l am, etc., WELL-WISHER.
