THE HOLIDAY.

Wet weather spoiled the holiday in South Canterbury. The Winchester sports were postponed, and a volunteer field-day at Temuka could not be held. A football match was played at Albury between Timaru and Albury, the former winning by nine points to three. The wet weather spoiled the holiday at Waiinate on Wednesday. The Star CyclingClub postponed their sports indefinitely. The Senior Gup match between the Colonials (Timaru) and Waimate was played in the afternoon. . The result was a win for Timaru by a try to nil, but the local team and spectators were very much dissatisfied with several decisions of the referee. During the game a Timaru player broke a small bone in his arm.
