CANTERBURY KENNEL CLUB.
The annual general meeting of the Canterbury Kennel Club was held at Warner's Hotel last evening. There was a large attendance of members, and Mr W. F. Russell, vice-president, occupied the chair. The annual balance-sheet showed the receipts to have been £144 IBs 2d,, including entries for the snow £46 12s 6d, gate money £33 15s 6d, special prizes £34 10s 6d, members' subscriptions ±529 10s, and refund on railway freight £l 6s Bd. The expenditure was £142 7s Id, the principal items in which were:—Printing and stationery £l7 15s, show expense!? £4l 12s 7d, and prize monev £SB 19s 7d. There was a credit balance of £2 8s Id. The assets were shown as £7 lis Id, and there were no liabilities. The balance-sheet was adopted. The annual report stated that a meeting had been held on June SO last, when the project of holding a snow was mooted. The show had not been held for the past five years, and owners had ceased breeding dogs for show purposes. However, the committee had decided to hold the show, which had fully justified the committee's action, both as regarded the number of entries, which were equal in number to any show previously held in Christchurch, and the quality of the dogs shown. The report was adopted. It was resolved that Rule 3 should "be altered so as to make the number of vice-presidents unlimited; also that the number of the committee should be altered from six to twelve. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Lord Ranfurly; president, Mr P. Campbell; vice-r>residents, Messrs J. N. Hamer, W. F. Russell, R. H. Rhodes, W. Ballantyne, P. Hunter, W. H. S. Moorhouse, C. Lewis, M.H.R., and Drs J. H. Deamer and B. M. MoorEouse; committee, Messrs L. Banks, V. Biggs, G. W. Staniland, T. Turvey, W. Woodhouse, J. Bundy, A. D. Menzies, A. S. Hardy-John-ston and Captain Mather; honorary veterinary surgeon, Mr T. C. Lillico; honorary auditor, Mr C. D. Morris treasurer, Mr W. C. Leversedge; honorary secretary, Mr A. R. ' Ragg. The usual .votes ;:(;i:: thanks were, passed to the secretary, treasurer,, judges,' veterinary, surgeon,:, auditor and chairman, and the meeting then closed. -*'■.
