The next term at the Girls'High' School will commence on Wednesday, May 31. To-morrow (Queen's Birthday) ordinary time-tables and farea on the Christchurch Tramway'Company's-lines>will be suspended. North Canterbury Chrysanthemum-Glub- will be-held on Thursday evening at eight o'clock in Glenross House (late Club Hotel), Rangiora. The Sydenham and Addington United Cricket Club will hold a " social " this evening in the Druids' Hall, Sydenham. The Corrick Family returned to town yesterday, after a very successful tour in the surrounding districts. The family will appear at the Oddfellows' Hall tomorrow evening, when they will be assisted by Mr C. Read and Mr Seager. At the conversazione which will be given in the Art Gallery on Thursday in connection with the Cathedral Completion'Fund, the Hoii C. C. Bowen has consented to address those present, • and the Bishop of Christchurch will also give an address. The committee of the Canterbury Rowing Club has decided to stop the sale of tickets for its dance to be held on'Friday. The weekly meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union will be held at 5 p»m, to-day at the Clarendon Hotel. A public meeting in connection with the St John's Branch of the Church of England Temperance Society will be held this evening in St John's Schoolroom.
