LADY STOUT AND THE WOMEN’S COUNCIL.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —With reference to Lady Stout’s statement in this morning’s issue that six delegates would have been present in Council had the meeting been held iu Wellington, I beg to state in reply that, with the exception of the Southern Cross Society, not one of the other Societies mentioned by Lady Stout has affiliated with the National Council or intimated to the Secretary that they had any intention of doing so. We trust, however, they may yet see their way to affiliate. It .is quite true that, owing to Lady Stout’s, action, which necessitated a, postponement of the Council’s meeting to a later date, Mrs Sohnackenberg was not able to be present. Mrs Daldy, however, is with us.—l am, Ac., K. W. SHEPPARD, President Women’s National Council.
