HARVEST THANKSGIVING SERVICES.

The annual harvest thanksgiving services in ooimection with the Wesleyan Church, Lyttletba/ were held on Sunday last. The Rev D. J. Murray preached special sermons at both morning and evening services. The church was tastefully decorated , with fruit, flowers, See. On Monday evening a concert and fruit banquet were held in ' the schoolroom. Songs w r ere contributed by Misses K. Aschman, Bradley and Hough, Mrs H. N. Hiskens and Mr Page. . Miss O. Cook contributed a piano solo, and Master Stewart a violin solo. The Rbv D, J. Murray gave an iutei-esting sketch of the work of the late conference. The Sydenham Gospel Temperance Mission has been holding- a harvest festival during the past few days in the Mission Hall, Colombo - Road. On Sunday special thanksgiving services were conducted, the building being crowded. On Monday there was a sacred concert, at which items were contributed by Misses Williams and Johnson, Messrs Ford, Hunter and C. J. Russell and the choir. Mr T. E. Taylor, M.H.R., occupied the chair. Last evening a harvest home tea was held, and was largely attended. A meetingwas afterwards held, at which Mr D. R. Lanyon occupied the chair, and addresses were given by the Revs C. Porter and W. G. Parsonson. The proceedings were closed by a.sale of goods, Mr J. L. Wilson acting as auctioneer.
