CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. , [Per Press Association.! , . HOKITIKA; March 30. The Coal Company’s case was continued at the Supreme Court to-day, but only two witnesses were examined Tennant, formerly employed as fireman in the mine, whose examination lasted over four hours, and Rooney, formerly a miner. At present there are three theories for the explosion as put forth by witnesses —a burst of, gas from a fall in the river, an explosion of coal dust from a blown-out shot, and an explosion of coal dust from a small gas. explosion. The claims received at present amount to £28,000.' There are no present indications of an early finish of the case.
