[Per Press Association.] LONDON, August 31. The New Zealand Jubilee Company is being re-formed. [From Our Correspondent.] AUCKLAND, Sept. 1. ■ The following are quotations for leadin ; mines;—
I Per Press Association.! Mr A. Montgomery, M.A.; B.Sc,, geological surveyor and inspector of mines, Tasmania, has been offered an important and lucrative appointment by the Kauri Freehold Gold Estates Company. He has accepted it, and resigned his office under the Government of Tasmania. He is to advise and to superintend the rapid development of the property recently acquired by the Company. Mr Montgomery was formerly superintendent of the Thames School of Mines, and is well acquainted with Thames gold-fields. Cable advice was received to-day from London that the Hauraki Anchor Company (Limited) has been registered. The capital of the Company is 92130,000, 9230,000 being set aside for working capital. The Company is to take over the Anchor Special Claim,, at Hope Creek, Thames. A company for gold and silver-mining at Great Barrier was formed to-day. Two hundred acres have been taken up at Blind Bay. For the four weeks ending August 15, the Waitekauri Company crushed 144 tons, yielding 92585 worth of bullion.
