[Special to Pbess Association.] LONDON, July 10. It is stated that sheep which lately sold at 24 3 are now selling at Ba. July 11, At Mr Hotson’s meeting at Manchester, Mr Weddell offered to send the ships Timaru and Opawa with cargoes of mutton direct to Manchester. July 12, Mr Young, of Melbourne, proposes, in the event of interest on the deposits of the City of Melbourne Bank being inscribed under H per cent, that the bank should make it cumulative. . A committee of bondholders in Messrs Goldsbrough, Mort and Co., has decided to divide the deposits in a manner similar to that of the City of Melbourne Bank. MELBOURNE, July 12, The Minister of Agriculture stated in the Assembly that the question of making Manchester a port of call under the new produce contracts had received the careful attention of the Government, but it had been deemed unwise to alter the form of tenders limiting the service to London. The Agent-General, however, would be authorised to accept tenders for other ports as well as London. - The Age says that, owing to the combination amongst the steamship lines at present tracing to Australia, there is no chance of their including Manchester among the ports ‘of delivery, except at such an additional cost as would wholly destroy the benefits expected from the wider field of distribution it opened up. The Age strongly urges the claims of a new direct service to Manchester. July 12.

The steamer Warrigal, leaving for London to-morrow, takes 225 sheep and 20 head of cattle, which is the first shipment of live stock from Victoria. Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited, have received the following cable message from thsir London office, dated July 11 Wool sales continue firm, and latelyreported rates are fully maintained. American buyers are operating freely.
