SUPREME COURT.

[Per Press Association,]INVERCARGILL, June 24. The Supreme Court finished its sittings tonight. The last case taken before Mr Justice Williams alone was Bowermau Bros. v. G. W. Brodrick (solicitor), for ten guineas for tho "Picturesque Atlas” or alternatively for that sum as damages for breach of contract. The defence was that there bad been fraud and misrepresentation. The case resolved itself into oath against oath, and his Honor said that where that was the position the party objecting to a written contract must bring a preponderance of evidence. Judgment was given for the plaintiffs for ten guineas damages for breach of contract, defendant having refused to accept delivery of the books.- - District Court costs only were allowed, his Honor saying the case should have been brought in the Resident Magistrate’s Court.
