[FEOH OUB OWN COEEESPONDSNT.] WELLINGTON, June 24. The question of licensing ttia King country is still in suspense. A meeting of natives hold on Tuesday, at Otorc-haaga, resolved, that as they wero selling lands it was advisable that they should have a licensed house for the use of visitors and travellers. They consider a license preferable to an illicit traffic. [Feb Fbj.3o Association.] At the adjourned licensing meeting three applications for 12 o’clock extensions were refused. The Bench intimated that it objected to publicans using more than one bar, unless the licensee paid for it, and instructed the police to take action where the fee was not paid. The Licensing Committee has intimated that no licenses will bq gyaatetf to single women in future.
